Membership

HealthEfficient is a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization. We are a membership organization, and our members are community health centers nationwide. We currently have 35+ member health centers and operate our programs in 8 states and Washington, DC. We also provide services to clients across the country, including non-member health centers and other providers.

Every engagement and project with HealthEfficient offers these three benefits of our network:

  1. Subject matter expertise from our staff that incorporates available evidence and best practices to achieve goals

  2. Sophisticated data analytics and visualizations that enable us to target interventions and track the degree to which they are improving clinical, operational, and financial performance.

  3. The network effect of peer-to-peer collaboration with other members. When you’re engaged with HealthEfficient, you’re not just taking advantage of resources from our staff, but you’re able to connect with similar health centers trying to solve the same problems at the same time that you are, or health centers who have already solved them. This gives you direct access to the CEOs, COOs, CMOs, and CIOs at other similar health centers.

Our Health Center Controlled Network

HealthEfficient operates a federally-designated Health Center Controlled Network. In the scope of our broad HCCN project, funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration, we support health centers in improving clinical performance, increasing patient access and engagement, and reducing provider burden, often through the use of Health Information Technology and with timely, accurate, and comprehensive data. We are among the largest Health Center Controlled Networks in the country. The clinical areas of focus of our HCCN are hypertension, diabetes, cancer screening, and Opioid Use Disorder.

Membership in our Health Center Controlled Network is free. This means that member health centers receive a wide array of our services at no cost — the cost for these services is covered by HRSA.

Consulting Engagements

For those health centers and clients who require or request more support than we provide through our HCCN project, we also provide many services that go above and beyond those of the HCCN. These include intensive support for Electronic Health Record optimization and training, Revenue Cycle assessment and maximization, strategic planning, and many more. These services are available as contracted engagements with us and to our dues-paying members.

Dues-Paying Membership

Health Centers who have ongoing and/or broad support needs from HealthEfficient and want to have continual access to their peers in our network often opt to become dues-paying members, opening up the full array of our services to them at lower cost. (The full array of our services goes well beyond in scope and depth what is available through our no-cost HCCN project.) There are two types of dues-paying membership:

  • “Full Membership” offers access to all of our services, committees and workgroups, and learning resources, as well as a large pool of service hours included with membership that enables further intensive, customized support at no extra cost Full Members are entitled to nominate an executive to our Board of Directors.

  • “Participating Membership” has lower annual dues, fewer support hours, and no board seat, but includes participation in all of our committees and workgroups, access to all our resources, etc., just as a full membership does.

HealthEfficient often secures contracts with funders for additional Quality Improvement projects throughout the year, and many of these projects include “project stipends” or revenue-producing opportunities for the health centers who participate in them. When we win such contracts, we prioritize our Full and Participating members for inclusion in these projects.
